“The gameplay is all about exploration and conversation as you deal with the supernatural and personal relationships within your high school class.”
Oxenfree is just the latest high-profile indie game to hit Netflix. In June, the streaming giant added the beloved turn-based tactical strategy game Into the Breach and brought the storefront action RPG Moonlighter to the platform in May. The addition of Oxenfree comes as no surprise, as Netflix acquired the game’s developer, Night School Studios, in September of last year.
More games are coming to Netflix in the future. The critically acclaimed point-and-click adventure game Kentucky Route Zero will be added later, along with the original TV spin-offs Narcos: Cartel Wars and Stranger Things: Puzzle Tales.
The streaming giant has bet big on mobile games in recent months, even if it seems like no one is actually playing it.
